TUESDAY 18 JUNE – THURSDAY 20 JUNE

Speculative Art School 2019 presents an exciting programme of invited speakers, field trips, film screenings, discussions, demonstrations and making sessions over three days, part of the University Arts Festival.

During SAS 2019 we will be taking a critical look at materials, at what/where/how the earth’s resources are extracted, processed, transported and utilised in creative practice. It’s an opportunity to extend our thinking about material and political geologies and ecologies: strata; time; energy debt; waste.

For the timetable and locations follow the Eventbrite link. Book early – spaces to some activities are limited. https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/arts-festival-tickets-62576958367

Speculative Art School is Sarah Bowden and Jean Boyd. It is as an alternative art school within an art school. We don’t teach art; we produce a curriculum engaging in speculation and conjecture. Speculative Art School is an open invitation to current, past and prospective students; UoG staff; and members of the public.
